Planted to Flourish
A year of new beginnings.
Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where nettles grew, myrtles will
sprout up. These events will bring great honor to the Lord’s name; they will be an
everlasting sign of his power and love.” Isaiah 55:13
This year our word for the year is PLANTED. As we aim to flourish our goal is to Go Deeper, Go Wider, and Go Further.
GO DEEPER
We aim to go deeper in our faith and spiritual growth. This requires intentional pursuit and discipline. We have resources to help you pursue this effort. Starting the year off with our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting as well as the new addition of a Bible Reading plan that can be found on the YouVersion Bible App. Becoming steeped in God’s Word is essential to our spiritual growth and continuing to develop your relationship with our God.
GO WIDER
As we seek to go wider in our faith, we aim to do so by seeking the lost and “casting our nets” locally, nationally, and globally. This missional effort is a part of our calling as believers. We seek to love those God has entrusted to us by offering our time, talents, and treasures.
GO FURTHER
As we celebrate the tenth anniversary of Renovation Church, we seek to further cultivate the posture of generosity steeped within our church culture. To offer ourselves as vessels for God’s great work, and laying down our offerings that help create precious opportunities for every man, woman, and child to embrace a life with God.

TYPES OF FASTS
COMPLETE FAST
This fast calls for drinking only liquids, typically water with light juices as an option.
PARTIAL FAST
This fast is sometimes called the Jewish Fast and involves abstaining from eating any types of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.
SELECTIVE FAST
This type of fast involves removing certain elements from a diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, or bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.
MEDIA FAST
This fast is common for those who do not have much experience fasting foods. Someone might select to abstain from using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast—and then choosing how to carefully bring that element back into their life in an orderly fashion.
