Family Pastor

I. Position Summary 

The family ministry pastor is responsible to implement a family ministry discipleship strategy, support an excellent weekend experience for kids and youth, and facilitate partnership with parents and the community. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, pastoral, and spiritual leadership skills, and a strategic gift.

II. Responsibilities:

1.Strategy and Content Development

1. Continue to develop and implement Renovation family ministry (Next Gen) discipleship strategy

2. Oversee curriculum resources to align with key objectives 

3. Create content for kids and parents on culturally relevant topics, alignment series, season topics

4. Support FM team as needed to edit/curate weekly curriculum

2. Resource Families

1. Curate relevant and timely partnerships resources for families

2. Provide discipleship cues for parents throughout the year (ex: Easter, Christmas).

3. Direct families into discipleship rhythms [ex: community groups, mission trips, volunteer teams

4. Organize and lead Family Mission Trip opportunities

 

3. Create & Facilitate Milestone Moments

1. Implement transition milestones (nursery to preschool, kids to youth).

2. Provide parent events and meetings at milestone events (moving up to 6th grade, new parent stage, graduation).

4. Team Leadership and Oversight

1. Team & Volunteer Management

2. Oversee family ministry staff and contractors.

3. Develop staff through training, resources, coaching.

4. Lead Family Ministry teams in a cohesive and unified strategy for families.

5. Conduct yearly and quarterly reviews (G90’s) with the FM team

5. Weekend Experience

1. Oversee management of leadership pipeline for FM teams

2. Develop and support the volunteer leadership team

3. Work with staff and leads to recruit and retain volunteers

4. Invest regularly in teams through training, resources, coaching

5. Oversee onboarding and training of new volunteers/leaders

6. Create training materials and oversee training rhythms

7. Regularly attend and provide support to Kids & Youth services.

6. Data & Administration

1. Oversee data management system and family check‐in efforts to ensure we are measuring the accurate data points

2. Oversee online processing system for volunteer applications

3. Manage Family Ministry budget

III. Leadership

A. The Family Pastor will report to the Executive Pastor. 

B. The normal work week starts on Sunday and ends on Thursday, except when activities require participation on other days in which case the Family Pastor will determine what days will be substituted for days off. 

IV . Qualifications

1. Must have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. 

2. Knowledgeable in Student, Kid and/or Family Ministry for at least 5 years

3. A gifted relational leader and creative thinker. 

4. Strong written and spoken communication skills (live and video platforms.)

5. Experience in building volunteer and staff leadership teams.

6. Ability to multi-task with high energy, strong interpersonal skills, and positive attitude

7. Team player and team builder with a focus on the vision of the whole church

8. Efficient time management skills, with the ability to balance numerous requirements.

9. Ability to learn quickly, multi-task and work independently as well as, part of a team

10. Strong administrative, leadership and relational skills

11. Ability to use CCB, Pro-Presenter, Youtube (content creation), Final Cut/Adobe Premier, Planning Center online, and social media platforms
